Is this sloth eating... dirt?" Though primarily folivores, savoring a diet of leaves from the treetops, two-fingered sloths occasionally indulge in a mouthful of ground dirt! This peculiar behavior, termed geophagy, may be their way of aiding digestion, absorbing toxins, or supplementing nutrients they don't always get from their leafy meals.
