We are pulling the script from the Foxfire play from our archive today! This unique piece of our history is not nearly as well-known as our books or magazine. The Foxfire play was written by Hume Cronyn and Susan Cooper, and was made into a Hallmark movie (featuring John Denver!) in the 1980s. The play was based on the life story of Aunt Arie, but featured characters inspired by other interviews. | The Foxfire Museum

Neal James represents several generations of muleskinners from Scaly Mountain, NC. He learned mules from his grandfather, Edgar James, and father, Bob James. Today, as a farmer, Neal still relies on his matched pair of Percheron mules, Maggie and Mandy (M&M) to cultivate his squash and cabbage that he grows in Dillard, GA. Today, we spent a little time with Neal to learn more about this practice and to schedule interviews for this year's class of Foxfire students. | The Foxfire Museum
