artifacts from the HMHS Britannic, sister ship to the Titanic, have been recovered from the seafloor for the first time since the vessel sank more than a century ago. The Britannic, originally intended as the third and most advanced of the Olympic-class ocean liners built by the White Star Line, met her fate during World War I when she was serving as a hospital ship. On November 21, 1916, she struck a mine in the Aegean Sea near the Greek island of Kea and sank in under an hour. Unlike Titanic,
