Making Artex Ceilimgs Smooth!  I’ve tried many methods over the years and there is no denying that overboarding is the best practice! But sometimes it’s not possible to overboard! There maybe coving in the room the customer may not be able to afford the extra labour cost….. I’ve also tried the magic mix method, where you will mix your first coat with bonding then let that pull in and second coat as normal! This one’s for any potential customers out there thinking of having there Artex ceilings made smooth! In my opinion the only safe garrenteed option to making your Artex ceiling smooth it to overboard the existing with plasterboard, effectively having a new ceiling put up without taking the existing one down! Sometimes this isn’t possible so the next best thing is to over skim them… Preparation is key with this option and if it’s not done correctly you’ll have issues such as this in the video! #p
