Buphthalmia is typically from chronic glaucoma (high intraocular pressure) and is blinding. There’s nothing we can do for these eyes but try to keep them comfortable. Sometimes that’s increasing medical therapy, but most of the time eye removal is my go to. Good news! Glaucoma has been ruled out, and the doctor is suspecting an old injury caused inflammation, so she is going to do a round of eye drops to see if they help with the uveitis. The enlargement of the eye we are seeing could be due to the inflammation impeding the natural drainage that occurs, causing pressure build up. Thankfully the pressure was normal today, so we’re hoping the drops will decrease the inflammation and allow it to drain appropriately. If there’s no improvement we will h
