Today’s Tuesday Tribute video is of my dad Hoyt Axton & his band playing “Heartbreak Hotel” at The Swap Shop in Fort Lauderdale, FL live on TNN in the early 90’s. As many of you know, my grandma Mae Boren Axton co-wrote this song for ELVIS PRESLEY in 1955 with her writing partner Tommy Durden. It became Elvis’ first big hit, spending seven weeks at the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 & kick starting his career. My dad played this song live throughout his career but he didn’t release an official
