Dec 22, 2024 · Wether it be injury , sickness, or lack of nutrition something caused him to shed early. Smaller antlers this year could be a carryover of the same pour condition and not completely recovering from it by growing season. I would be more curious about him shedding early this year as well. Seems whatever it is it's a chronic condition.

Oct 14, 2024 · Deer farms transfer live deer across multiple states and group deer close together which is a big nono. The prions also stay in the soil long after any deer farm is depopulated. Not to mention, deer farms are entirely unethical. Wild deer should be wild not caged in fences. Deer farms are not the only transfer of CWD but they certainly don't help.

Dec 19, 2024 · Since many ungulates carry the bacterium in their digestive tract, I suspect deer that are congregating at a feed site or cattle feed site would be highly susceptible to the disease. Wet/muddy ground is also a contributing factor. Deer defecating and churning up the ground at a feeder site would be a perfect transmission spot.
