I have made changes to make it fit the Micro-Swiss Ender 3 direct drive hot end setup for my Ender 3 V2 since the original shroud does not fit the bracket.

Jan 24, 2024 · A lot of the fan shrouds I see for the ender 3 would interfere with the direct drive system, so I'm open to recommendations. Printer is the ender 3 v2 with microswiss direct drive extruder and hotend, pei bed, and connected to a pi 3b running octoprint.

It depends on your needs. If you are printing fine with a Bowden, and don't plan on using flexibles, then I would not recommend direct drive conversion. But if you want to try flexibles, or have stringing problems, then the conversion will work for that.
