Feb 15, 2014 · It flew away when I readjusted my position, so I will just try again. My bunion/hammertoe/ surgery was the 12th. I also was up too much the first two days. My sweet hubby is doing a remarkable job as nurse. After my doctor told us to remove the Ace bandage, I got immediate relief from the horrible burning I had from 10 -5 two nights.

Sep 28, 2014 · Hi Sally, yes I wear high heels but my operation was 12 years ago now. My feet don't hurt at all now but it did take a long time before I could wear fashionable shoes again. I find that high heels are ok as long as I don't wear really pointed toes shoes - they have to be more rounded but the actual high heels aren't a problem.

May 30, 2015 · John, I went to physical therapy to help with the mobility in my toes. Try picking up marbles with your toes to get the moving, but it still may be too soon for that. It is 3 months since my surgery and I still have some swelling. Keep elevating. I wore sneakers up till 12 weeks and still can't get into some of my shoes.

No, I am not walking. 2 weeks with the wrap after surgery, then 4 weeks in a cast, then starting to walk in a boot at the beginning of April (6 weeks). Last time, I had a cast for the 4 weeks, and this time one of the surgeons suggested the boot (still no weight). I am not sure which I prefer.

Jun 6, 2015 · It is just over 3 weeks since I had bunion and hammer-toe surgery. In the mornings the swelling is reduced a lot but after being out and about in the walker boot the bunion area (big toe and surrounds) and two hammer toes are quite swollen. I do keep my foot elevated for as much of the time as possible but have not tried ice yet.
