Less gas consumption in Europe is keeping storage full
Jul 25, 2024 · Europe’s consumption of natural gas has fallen since mid-2022, due to mild winters and energy saving policies. The EU27’s four countries with highest gas use – Germany, France, Italy and the Netherland – have consumed a combined 5 billion cubic feet per day of gas less last year and 6 Bcf/d less from January to May 2024, leaving storages at record highs.
