The league phase of this Champions League campaign has brought some unexpected events, but one of the biggest surprises is that there's a possibility that Real Madrid won't qualify for the knockout phase of the tournament as they host RB Salzburg on Tuesday.

Defending champions Real Madrid beat RB Salzburg 5-1 on Matchday 7 in the league stage of the UEFA Champions League. The match, played at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, saw Rodrygo strike twice in the first half to put Real two goals to the good. Vinicius Junior scored a brace on either side of a Kylian Mbappe goal in the second period.
