A three-state confederation has the potential to overcome many of the problems associated with simply establishing a stand-alone state of Palestine.
The Palestinian government condemned the scheme, calling it illegal and saying the fragmentation of territory would rip up peace plans for the region.
But France, Canada and the U.K. are doing it too hastily. The plan won’t work without conditions.
