The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners gave the thumbs-down Tuesday to a Conifer downhill bike park that proposed 16 miles of winding trails descending an 830-foot vertical drop — all of it served by a chairlift.

Some Colorado residents in Jefferson County made their voices heard and county leaders voted against a proposal for a new bike park on Tuesday. The bike park would have been called the Shadow Mountain Bike Park and it would have been built on more than 200 acres of land near Conifer.

On Tuesday morning, the Jefferson County Commissioners are expected to vote on whether a hot-debated mountain bike park will be built near the town of Conifer.

Leaders in Jefferson County have voted against a proposal to build a new bike park in Conifer. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said Monday that President elect-Trump “and his transition team are already breaking” a law on presidential transition.
