A horrifying mishap at Orlando’s holiday drone show that severely injured a boy is grounding New Year’s Eve displays from Texas to New York City and sparking further scrutiny into what went wrong.

Part of Fort Worth-based Sky Elements' license was suspended by the FAA after a drone show incident in which a 7-year-old boy was seriously injured.

A Holiday Drone Show in Orlando was canceled after some drones fell into the crowd during Saturday's performance, seriously injuring a 7-year-old boy. Two performances were scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 21. The second was canceled "due to technical difficulties," the City of Orlando posted on Facebook.

A Texas company that stages elaborate synchronized drones shows has been barred from staging the spectacles following an incident in Orlando in which several drones collided and fell into the crowd.
