Juliette Binoche will preside over the jury for the 78th Cannes Film Festival, festival organizers announced Tuesday.

French actor Juliette Binoche will succeed Greta Gerwig as jury president of the Cannes Film Festival at the upcoming 78th edition. It will mark a second time in Cannes history that the jury will headed by a woman for two consecutive years.

Juliette Binoche, who won an Oscar for her portrayal of a nurse in "The English Patient", was named as jury president for the 2025 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.

The 78th edition of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival has announced French actor Juliette Binoche as the President of its Jury for 2025. This is only the second time in the festival's history that a woman has been chosen to lead the jury two years in a row. In 2024, Greta Gerwig led the jury.
