Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Zoo will be closed for two weeks starting on Jan. 6, and the biomes at The Leaf will also be closed on Jan. 13.

Plans are underway for the construction of a new and larger animal hospital at Winnipeg's Assiniboine Park Zoo, where visitors will be able to watch veterinary procedures live for the first time.

The Assiniboine Park Zoo and parts of its horticultural attraction will close for almost two weeks in January. The zoo will close for annual maintenance from Jan. 6 to 17, a news release said Friday.
