Centineo will play a younger version of John Rambo, the character made famous by Sylvester Stallone in a series of action movies. Deadline reports that producers hope the film, titled John Rambo, will begin shooting in Thailand later this year.

The original John Rambo movie, titled First Blood, sees Rambo, dealing with PTSD following the Vietnam War and inadvertently crossing a small town sheriff, which leads to a standoff between the Green Beret and the local police. The new movie will tell the story, or at least part of the story, of Rambo’s time in Vietnam.

The search for a new actor to portray a young John Rambo has led to Noah Centineo being linked to the role, sparking curiosity about how the actor might approach such a physically demanding character.
