With free agency opening on Monday, New York's plans have received a major update.

New York enters the offseason with Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, Mitchell Robinson, Josh Hart, Miles McBride, Pacome Dadiet and Tyler Kolek all under contract for 2025-26.

The New York Knicks were left with just a second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, and used it with money on their mind.

Only 59 names will be called in the 2025 NBA Draft, one shy of the typical 60 that get selected each June. Wednesday night's first round will feature the usual 30 picks, but the second round will only have 29 due to a punishment that dates back to the summer of 2022.

They opted to trade back, sending pick 50 to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for pick No. 51, where they selected Diawara, a 20-year-old 6-foot-9 forward from France who has close ties to rising Knicks sophomore Pacome Dadiet. The Knicks took Dadiet 25th overall in 2024.
