Linda Lavin’s cause of death has been revealed. The “Alice” actress passed away Dec. 29 after suffering cardiopulmonary arrest with lung cancer listed as the underlying cause, according to the death certificate obtained by TMZ Monday.

HOLLYWOOD (WKRC) - Linda Lavin's cause of death was revealed Monday, nearly one month after her passing. According to TMZ, citing a death certificate from the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health, sitcom legend Linda Lavin died from cardiopulmonary arrest (cardiac arrest).

A cause of death has been determined for Tony Award-winning actress and sitcom star Linda Lavin,who passed away on Dec. 27 at the age of 87.

Dec. 29, PEOPLE confirmed Lavin "passed unexpectedly due to complications from recently discovered lung cancer"
