Roads south of Bloomington are beginning to be covered in snow, as seen on Indiana Department of Transportation snow plow cameras. Just after 9 a.m., a photograph from a snow plow on I-69 near Washington, Indiana, showed snow accumulating on the interstate. Another plow on I-69 near Crane showed snow is just beginning to accumulate.

Aaron Updike, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis said the Bloomington area is expected to get between 2 and 4 inches of snow. Southern parts of Indiana could see even more, with Bedford projected to get close to 4 inches and areas closer to Louisville possibly seeing 6 inches.

The Bloomington area has a 100% chance for snow on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The NWS is now predicting 3 to 4 inches for the Bloomington area, up from 1 to 2 inches it expected previously.

Indianapolis is getting hit with another 2 to 4 inches today. Expect the heaviest accumulation of snow near rush hour.

Kacie Fuson, a meteorologist with the NWS in Indianapolis, said the Bloomington area already has gotten about 8.5 inches of snow, according to reports from weather spotters.

As much as 5 inches of fresh snow fell across parts of Indiana before it began tapering off late Friday in the second snowfall of the week. Indianapolis' accumulation ranged from 2 to 4 inches, as predicted by the National Weather Service.
