The AAP leader is the third woman CM of the national capital after late Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. At 43, Atishi is also the youngest CM in Delhi’s history, surpassing Kejriwal, who was 45 when he first took office.

Along with her, five other ministers of AAP were sworn in and will be part of Delhi’s cabinet. These include Saurabh Bharadwaj, Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Imran Hussain and Mukesh Ahlawat

New Delhi: 43-year-old Atishi was sworn in as Delhi's youngest Chief Minister along with five ministers on Saturday in a low-key function at the Lieutenant Governor’s office, days after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the top post in a political move aimed at regaining ruling AAP’s perceived sliding fortunes.

As CM, Kejriwal did not have any portfolio assigned to him. However, AAP leaders said this was unlikely to be the case with Atishi.

Atishi Marlena took oath as Delhi's third woman chief minister, drawing criticism from BJP leaders who labeled her a 'dummy CM' under Arvind Kejriwal's control. Despite this, Atishi must address key issues and implement important policies ahead of the assembly elections scheduled for February next year.

The new Council of Ministers announced by AAP comprises Sultanpur Majra MLA Mukesh Ahlawat, a new entrant, besides ministers Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj and Imran Hussain.

Chief Minister-designate Atishi will be sworn in along with her new Council of Ministers during a ceremony at the Raj Niwas on Saturday afternoon that will see AAP form the government in Delhi for the fourth time in a row.
