A man was shot dead in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood early on New Year’s Eve. Seattle Police Department officers have shut down the corner of East Pike and Broadway Street while they investigate.

Seattle police are investigating a deadly shooting on New Year's Eve morning in the Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Police responded to sounds of gunfire near Broadway and East Pike Street in Seattle shortly before 3 a.m. where they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers first responded to reports of gunshots just before 3 a.m. — when they got to the scene, they found the victim with several gunshot wounds to his torso.

Jonathan Adamow, 29, was shot and killed in the early morning hours of Dec. 31, 2024. Seattle police officers say Adamow was not the intended target.

The victim of a shooting earlier this week in the Capitol Hill neighborhood has been identified as the child of a New York City firefighter.
