More than two dozen pro-Palestinian protesters were arrested Monday after occupying an engineering building at the University of Washington, where they demanded the university sever ties with Boeing over the aerospace giant’s military contracts and its role in supplying weapons used in the war in Gaza.

New York City police took 80 people into custody after responding to protests on Columbia's campus, the police department said.

The students were placed on interim suspension and will be prohibited from taking their final exams or entering campus except to access their dormitories, the university official said. Columbia also barred 33 other people from campus,
