The U.S. Army expects to meet its enlistment goals for 2025. It's a dramatic turnaround for a service that has struggled for several years to bring in enough young people and has undergone a major overhaul of its recruiting programs.

The Army is on pace to bring in 61,000 young people by the end of the fiscal year in September, Army Secretary Christine Wormuth said.

Nearly 10,000 women signed up for active duty in 2024, an 18% jump from the previous year, while male recruitment increased by just 8%, the data shows.
