After the first-half de-pantsing by Illinois, Indiana further embarrassed itself when Goode dangerously barreled into Illini center Tomislav Ivisic, who barked at Goode, setting off a mini-scrum in which Ballo – in his most spirited action of the night – rushed from halfcourt to the baseline to get in a shove on Ivisic.

Five minutes remained in Tuesday night's first half as Indiana was down by 30 points against Illinois. Boos of frustration began to sing down onto the court, filling Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.

As the halftime buzzer sounded Tuesday night inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, Illinois junior guard Tre White and sophomore forward Jake Davis lifted their arms near midcourt and motioned their hands inward, inviting the Hoosier faithful to yell louder.
