A woman’s body has been recovered from Florida’s Lake Kissimmee after reports of “an alligator attack” on a canoeist, investigators say. It happened just after 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, near the mouth of Tiger Creek along the lake, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported in a news release.

An alligator killed a Florida woman after tipping over a canoe she and her husband were paddling, investigators said.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) said they were called around 4 p.m. after a woman was canoeing into Lake Kissimmee and she encountered an alligator.
