After nearly two weeks, firefighters in Los Angeles announced Friday that they were seeing the "light at the end of the tunnel" in fighting the blazes that have consumed much of Southern California.
Salt water from the ocean is an option for fighting L.A.'s fires, but it's more complicated than simply going to the beach to transport water to the hillsides.
Falkland Islands firefighters continued to fight the fire at Sea Lion island over the weekend. On Monday 11 March additional firefighters have been sent to Sea Lion Island to provide further support.
