The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup is the 21st edition of the competition, and just like the Champions League in the 2024/2025 season, comes with an expanded format. Since 2005, the tournament had been held annually in December, until in 2023, FIFA confirmed that it would be held in the USA as a prelude to the World Cup in 2026.

The 2026 World Cup will have a record 48 teams, and Japan became the first nation excluding the three hosts to secure a spot. Other teams could follow in the current international window. Next year's tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada kicks off on June 11 and the final will take place on July 19.

The participating nations in 2026 will come from all six FIFA confederations: UEFA (Europe), CONMEBOL (South America), AFC (Asia), CAF (Africa), CONCACAF (North and Central America & the Caribbean), and OFC (Oceania).
