Domino's Pizza on Monday posted a surprise decline in first-quarter same-store sales in its biggest market, as elevated inflation and economic uncertainty hit consumer appetite for restaurant food.

Domino’s Pizza logged higher profit and revenue in the first quarter as continued growth in international same-store sales offset declines at its U.S. locations.

The company said the performance of its stuffed-crust pizza, launched late in the first quarter, has matched its expectations.
