The Cleveland Browns have an important NFL Draft ahead of them. They have to patch as many holes as possible and don’t have enough draft capital to do it. They also don’t have a lot of cap space to have a spending frenzy in free agency.
In 2024, Garrett played in all 17 games despite dealing with multiple different injury issues. He ended up recording 47 total tackles, 14 sacks, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and a defended pass. Even though Rapoport isn't expecting a Garrett to Philadelphia trade, the Eagles cannot be counted out.
Philadelphia has plenty of free agents on the defensive side of the football, including edge rusher Josh Sweat and defensive end Milton Williams, which might lead the Eagles to high levels of activity this offseason with regards to the pass rush.
The Eagles are rewarding their players after winning a Super Bowl, and are re-signing Zack Baun to a $51 million contract.
All of that comes with a cost. The Eagles already released veteran cornerback Darius Slay. And they seem prepared to allow defensive linemen Milton Williams and Josh Sweat, along with right guard Mekhi Becton, to officially become free agents on Monday at noon.
