Getting a new phone can be exciting, but if you use the Microsoft Authenticator app to log in, you'll want to transfer it to your new device properly.

Microsoft on Tuesday announced a public preview of a new 'Authenticator Lite' solution for Outlook Mobile apps.

To enable the feature you can download the Microsoft Authenticator app on iOS or Android and select your account from the dropdown button and choose enable phone sign-in.

According to a support page, the Microsoft Authenticator app will work on the Apple Watch until January 2023.

The Microsoft Authenticator app will delete all saved passwords in August 2025 with users urged to export them and move them elsewhere.
