All of South Carolina’s ballot-counting machines are being replaced with new, faster versions ahead of the November elections. The State Election Commission on Tuesday announced the purchase of 3,240 updated ballot scanners.
Even though it is already illegal and rare, eight states put constitutional amendments designed to prevent noncitizens from voting on the November ballot.
As early voting gets underway and ballots begin to be mailed out ahead of the general election, millions of people still plan to vote on Nov. 5. In some countries, voting is compulsory, and citizens are given the day off to cast their ballots.
