Marshall County votes to go wet, business owners to capitalize on alcohol sales
Many of the cities within the county like Guntersville, Boaz, Albertville, Arab and Grant have been considered “wet” for many years. However, this county-wide amendment which voters read on the 2024 ballot declares that all communities, including unincorporated ones, will benefit from alcohol sales.
Voters approve alcohol sales across Marshall County
With 73% of voters in favor, the county will transition from a "moist" status—where alcohol sales were limited—to a "wet" county, where alcohol can be sold throughout the area. As a result, businesses will now be able to sell alcohol in all parts of Marshall County.

“There’s 31 places in Marshall County that the public votes, and out of those 31, all 31 voted for alcohol sales,” said Ronny Shumate. “There was none against.” That’s Amendment 1 supporter Ronny Shumate. He is the district one commissioner.
