More than one quarter of the $1 million or more tickets sold were Jersey Cash 5, which led the way with 14 big winners. The biggest Jersey Cash 5 win came in October when someone who bought a $2 ticket at a deli in Port Monmouth in Monmouth County won a jackpot of nearly $2.4 million.

The players bought Carolina Cash 5 game tickets that matched all the numbers picked in the drawings on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, meaning each one was worth six figures, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on its website and in an email to McClatchy News.

The deadline has passed for a winner to claim their $138 million Powerball jackpot in Ohio. The winning ticket was sold in Huber Heights back in July. The winner had 180 days to claim their prize, but that deadline passed on Dec. 30.

Several lucky Arizona lottery players won big in recent drawings, including two prizes worth $1 million or more on Triple Twist and Powerball games.

The winner bought the ticket from a gas station in West Chester, using the Ohio Lottery's auto pick to choose their numbers on the Rolling Cash 5 drawing. The winner scored $252,200 on the drawing and will take home $181,440 after mandatory state and federal taxes totaling 28 percent.
