On the eve of when 53-man rosters have to be set, the Indianapolis Colts made a trade. The team announced on Monday evening that they were acquiring defensive back Mekhi Blackmon from the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round draft pick.

Indianapolis has spent the days since Saturday’s preseason finale making hard decisions, whittling the roster down from 90 players to 53 in a marathon cut that takes a toll on everybody involved, and now the Colts must make enough cuts to get the roster down to 53 players by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
