Texas’ Republican attorney general and a GOP Illinois state senator filed a petition in more conservative Adams County rather than where Texas lawmakers are located in suburban Chicago.

Texas pursues legal action to enlist Illinois assistance in apprehending Texas state Democratic lawmakers hunkered down in the Prairie State.

The attorney general is calling on the “full faith and credit” clause of the Constitution, which says states should typically honor each other’s judicial proceedings.
