Update: Clay Fire in Riverside County at 40% containment
Clay Fire initially started today at 5 p.m. in Riverside County. After being active for six hours, it has burned 38.5 acres. As of Tuesday evening, 40% of the fire was brought under containment by a crew of 165 firefighters. The cause of it remains under investigation.

The "Clay Fire" was first reported around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21 along the Santa Ana River Bottom near Pedley Road and Van Buren Boulevard. At last check, the fire has stretched just under 40 acres.
