The Lakers, as most have expected, have now officially assigned rookie guard Bronny James to the G League, but there is an interesting twist.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Bronny James has been assigned to the Los Angeles Lakers' G League affiliate, putting him on the roster in time for the South Bay Lakers' season opener this weekend. The Lakers announced the move Thursday for James, the 20-year-old son of LeBron James.

The Los Angeles Lakers assigned the the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, and the 20-year-old son of LeBron James, to the South Bay Lakers.
