The multitrillion-dollar tax breaks package passed by House Republicans early Thursday would gut clean energy tax credits that Democrats approved three years ago while supporting increased mining, drilling and other traditional energy production.

House Republicans are proposing to gut energy savings and clean energy tax credits in President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful” tax bill — money that is creating thousands of jobs in GOP states.

The One Big Beautiful Bill Act passed the House with 215 Yeas to 214 Nays, the Congress website showed. It still needs to pass the Senate and go to the President to become law, the site outlined.
