Within days after his inauguration and re-entry into the White House, US President Donald Trump held a phone call with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The telephonic conversation was mainly organised to take stock of the bilateral ties even as both countries want to hold the Quad Summit at an “early date” along with Japan and Australia.

Indian and U.S. diplomats are trying to arrange a February meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, two Indian sources familiar with the discussions told Reuters.
