If you feel overwhelmed by the thought of folding laundry, this simple technique will save you time and stress - and all you need to do is split your clothes into piles.

Researchers and companies have tried over the years to automate the chore with limited success. Using a brand new method, researchers have taught a robot to fold a record 30-40 garments per hour.

And Silicon Valley-based company FoldiMate raised hopes and eyebrows when it showed off a prototype of its eponymous laundry-folding robot at the Consumer Electronics Show in early 2019.
