Authorities were searching Monday for a black bear that killed a man and a dog in South Florida. The attack occurred in a rural area east of Naples, just south of Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a statement.

FWC officials said Monday the attack occurred near Jerome in Collier County east of Naples south of the Big Cypress Wildlife Management Area.

We do know it was a bear attack. We don’t know if it was the same bear or multiple bears,” Reynaud said at a press briefing later Monday.
