As the final results of the General Election roll in across North Carolina and the country, the state’s future governor, Democratic Attorney General Josh Stein, has found plenty to celebrate along with the Democratic party.

Republicans got a plus-6 boost from North Carolina on Tuesday in a bid to remain the majority party of the U.S. House of Representatives.

If Democrats pick up just one seat in either the state Senate or state House of Representatives this week, they'll break the GOP's supermajority and can then halt or force compromises on Republican-authored legislation.
