Roblox has announced that experiences labeled with the Restricted maturity tag will soon only be available to users aged 18 and over.

Roblox, an online gaming platform, is currently one of the most popular games, with 70 million daily active users, half of whom are under 13.

“Despite being primarily a children’s game, Roblox has evolved into a sort of emergent civic theatre for kids online,” argues Taylor Lorenz.

Roblox penned a lengthy post on its website detailing new rules aimed at preventing inappropriate behavior or content.
