Rainbows have seven colours in total. The colours of the rainbow always appear in the same order: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, ...

So when the sun is behind you and the rain in front of you, you see a rainbow of colours reflected back from inside the raindrops. As well as the lovely colours, rainbows also have a unique shape.
