Los Angeles wildfires have shifted direction, triggering new evacuation orders. The fires have killed 11 people, razed neighborhoods, and damaged 10,000 structures. Firefighters have received aid but continue to battle the flames as conditions remain hazardous.

And the wildfire is actually bigger than some cities. For instance, Monaco, which sits near the border of Italy and France, is only approximately 0.80 square miles. The Palisades and Eaton Fires combined can almost cover half of some major US cities, too.

Fierce winds that have supercharged wildfires sweeping parts of Los Angeles finally eased on Friday night, bringing some relief to weary firefighters, but the largest blaze was reported to have shifted direction,

Firefighters are making progress slowing the major fires in the Los Angeles area that have killed five people, ravaged communities from the Pacific Coast to Pasadena and caused thousands of people to flee their homes.
