Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick is looking into a lottery store that sold an $83-million ticket, calling into question courier services.

Lt Governor Dan Patrick is calling for the end of the Texas Lottery Commission’s use of lotto couriers to sell purchased tickets through online apps.

“This is not the way the lottery was designed to operate,” Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said in a video posted to X, formerly Twitter, after the $83.5 million ticket was sold through an Austin retailer owned by a lottery courier.
