All Memphis-Shelby County School District (MSCS) schools and district offices will reopen Friday after two days of inclement weather closings, MSCS announced Thursday afternoon.

The Memphis-Shelby County Schools Board of Education work session meeting has been canceled for tonight, Feb. 18, according to MSCS social media. The post also states that Y-care will remain open until 6 p.m. As of Tuesday afternoon, there was no date given for the rescheduled board meeting.

Dorsey Hopson’s time as superintendent, both as interim and in the full-time role, totaled right at six years (2,177 days). He shepherded the district from the 2013 merger of Memphis City Schools with Shelby County Schools until his departure in 2019 to become national K-12 director at Cigna .

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis-Shelby County Schools will remain closed Thursday, the school district announced. MSCS took to social media just before 5 p.m. Wednesday evening to let parents and students know that the entire school district, including administrative offices, will remain closed on Thursday due to icy roads.
