NFL roster cuts are quickly approaching as the preseason comes to an end later this week, and the New England Patriots are reportedly trying to unload a pair of defensive veterans.

Dugger, a five-year veteran with 65 career starts, has seen a role reduction under new defensive coordinator Terrell Williams. The Patriots just signed the 29-year-old safety to a four-year, $58MM extension last April, but this offseason’s regime change seems to have him on the outside of the roster bubble looking in.

The New England Patriots are reportedly open to trading one of their highest-paid players ahead of the 2025 season. Veteran safety Kyle Dugger is “known to be available for trade” ahead of Week 1, according to a Wednesday report from Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald.
