Several places in Haryana are reeling under severe cold conditions, with the common capital Chandigarh, recording a low of 7.3 degrees Celsius on Thursday, MeT officials said. The minimum temperature has dropped to nearly 4 degrees in some areas.

In addition to the public holidays, employees of the Haryana government will be entitled to three extra restricted holidays.

Haryana schools will observe winter holidays from January 1 to January 15, 2025, with schools reopening on January 16, 2025. Students in Classes 10 and 12 may be required to attend school for practical exams during this period.
